Summary: Had to return the first shipment...
Comment: While unpacking, I found the 1-qt. bowl was defective. It looks unpolished, hazy, opaque, not clear, see-through glass. There are also scratch marks on the interior surface. The rest of the bowls in the set look fine.

I immediately used Amazon's online returns/replacement option and obtained a free return shipping label. Then Amazon sent me an email, saying they would send a replacement set immediately, and to not return the defective bowl.

Dunno about the quality of these bowls (now made in China, as most everything else, these days). Although the thick rim on the top of the bowls gives the appearance of sturdiness and strength, the bowls' themselves are very thin. Wish the walls were of thicker glass. I hope they don't break easily with regular daily use. I want to use them to melt chocolate over a sauce pan of heated water (placed on the counter, removed from the stove).
