Summary: Delicious AND healthy! Wow!
Comment: I've recently made efforts to eat better and, let me tell you, ALL of Bob's Red Mill products are a godsend. Quinoa is easy to make, versatile, and packs some serious health benefits. The package it comes in doesn't look like much but the seeds cook up to 4 times their size, easily. So a little goes a long way both in that sense and that it's pretty filling too! I use it as a side dish, in soups and stews, and I imagine that with the right ingredients it could be used for breakfast as well!

I'm a carb addict and this, while not low carb, is definitely better than the empty and processsed carbs that I used to eat. If you're looking for a low carb option that's similar to rice, check out TVP granules. Only 3 effective carbs per serving and even easier to make than this stuff!

Summary: Change of Pace
Comment: I had never tasted Quinoa before, but the reviews on here elevated my expectations. The reality is it's just a bland slightly funky smelling grain. It's a good change of pace if you need to get some carbs on your dinner plate.

Summary: Bob's Red Mill Quiona
Comment: Bob's Red Mill products are always first class. The Quiona does not need to be prewashed, no bitter taste as with other brands.
The health benefits of Quiona are phenomenal. Proteins, amino acids, low calorie...and versatile...used in place of rice, coucous, pasta, potatoes.
Love it! Use it every day!

Summary: How do you store it?
Comment: Just prepared it first time, tasty. It says on the package keeps best refrigerated or frozen but it also says on the box to sell by Aug 2010. Now I'm sure they don't keep it refrigerated at their warehouse before they ship it to us. Any people here keep their Quinoa in the refrigerator? Closet? Notice any signs of spoilage? I've looked on line for info, some say it spoils after a month, some say it's good for years. Confusing internet.

Summary: Great but...
Comment: Love this stuff! Pre rinsed is great. As you probably know, rinsing the tiny grain is tedious. The only problem I have is with the higher cost. The organic 365 brand from Whole Food is a lot cheaper but you have to rinse. Oh well...
