Editorial Review:
The original classic trimline telephone with lighted keypad. Black Selectable compatibility with touch tone or pulse (rotary) telephone calling systems Button for Mute Flash function for convenient application of optional phone services (ie Call Waiting) May be used as a wall or table telephone Handset is electronically compatible for user's of hearing-aid devices
A popular and affordable telephone, the 210 from AT&T is designed for those who don't want hassles or frills, just a basic phone that's reliable and easy to use. Simple corded operation means you never have worry about misplacing a cordless handset, and the phone's sturdy construction means it's designed to last.

You can place the base on a convenient surface or easily mount it on the wall, saving on counter space. A 12-number memory dial feature lets you store your most frequently called numbers (up to 21 digits)--nine speed dials plus three emergency one-touch dials that are easy to program. A directory card is provided to help you keep track of all your memory dial settings. A redial feature lets you quickly call the last outgoing number (up to 32 digits).

Three ringer settings (off, low, and high) and three handset volume levels permit customization. Switchable tone and pulse dialing methods are also provided. The illuminated keypad helps you operate the phone even in darkly lit areas, while a prog/mute button on the handset lets you hear the other party while muting your side of the conversation. An excellent value, the 210 also comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.

Summary: Just in case the power goes out, which it does from time to time here.
Comment: The great thing about this phone is one simple fact: it's not digital. Why is that great? Because in emergencies where the power has gone out in your home you will not be able to use the nice gadgetry of your digital phone because, lo and behold, there will be no electrical power from which to run it.

But, the Trimline is not digital. It's an analog phone that runs simply off the standard phone cord. No other electrical power is necessary, and it will work even when the power is out provided that no local phone lines are down anywhere.

And that's a plus no matter how you slice it. My parents are aging and I'd like the ability to contact them in case the power goes out so that I can make certain that they are ok.

Phones are great for business or personal use, but if they don't function when you really need them then they are not worth very much, are they?

Summary: Good phone
Comment: Nice low-price and low-tech phone. Keypad is backlit by power from the phone line (no need to plug it in or to use batteries). Ringer can be turned up, down, or off right in the side of the handset which is nice if you have sleeping kids. Handset is comfortable to hold against ear. To hang it on a wall, a small plastic part in the base must be removed, flipped, and reinserted otherwise the handset falls out of the base. My only minor complaint is that the handset doesn't really 'click' into the base solidly even after reversting the part that hold it there. It feels like it might possibly fall off in an earthquake...but maybe not. This is the only thing causing me to give it 4 stars instead of 5. Anyway, I'd buy this phone again if I needed another.

Summary: Excellent deal for the money
Comment: I purchased this phone to replace an identical one that has served me for 20 years. I just finally wore it out. The new one has been in use for about a month now with no problems. It is our main land line phone so it gets a lot of abuse. It is a good, basic, no-frills phone that lasts. Sound quality excellent.

Summary: great look
Comment: I purchased this phone as a back-up to the wireless system I currently have, in the event of a power outage. It perfectly fits the bill.

Summary: Problems
Comment: The first phone would not program correctly. This phone was a replacement and it, too, will not program correctly in all of the memories. Some are OK.
I would not give it any stars.
