Customer Reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Works as described Comment: I was a little leery of these from the bad reviews of them smoking and burning but decided to give them a try anyway when I found them on special. I've now used them and wish I had more in different sizes. I've used them for cookies and they do help immensely. The cookies brown more evenly and come off so easily! I highly recommend them. Customer Rating: Summary: First time to use a nonstick Bakin Mat Comment: This is the first time I have used a nonstick baking mat. It seems to perform as promised, but I haven't used it enough yet to see if it works better than the good non-stick baking pan I have. Customer Rating: Summary: No more burning the bottom of cookies Comment: I love this product! Your cookies just slide right off! It seems to help prevent from burning the bottom of the cookies aswell. I bought 2. Customer Rating: Summary: Matfer baking mat Comment: I love the baking mats. I would love more, but the person selling only had three and I gave two to my daughter. Definitely recommend the product and seller. Customer Rating: Summary: Why does my smoke alarm keep going off? Comment: I just moved into a new apartment, and bought this for all my baking needs. It was great at first! Stuff really won't stick to this guy. It was a little difficult to get the brown spots that... some common ingredient in baked goods... causes off, but in general I was happy.
But every time I baked, even when nothing burned, my smoke detector would go off! At first, it was obvious to me that it was the electric oven; it was just too hot and I was used to gas.
But that didn't seem right. Everyone else can bake with an electric oven and keep the smoke alarm from going off! ...It must be the baking mat. Sure enough, it was. The next time I baked frozen Pilsbury cinnamon rolls (which sent the smoke detector into a high-pitched rage last time) with nothing but aluminum foil on my cookie sheet, everything was fine. Needless to say, I am disappointed.
