Editorial Review:
Mounts instantly and securely. Durable, tempered clear glass nectar container. Slide action bracket simplifies bottle removal. Two sculptured flower feeding stations with bee guards and perch. 3 different colors, decorative and unique designs. Meadow rose with copper vein, meadow vine with green vein and meadow sunflower with silver vein.
Designed to bring hummingbirds right to a window for close observation, this feeder mounts quickly on glass with two suction cups and remains secure. It's made of tempered glass to resist scratching, has a capacity of 14 ounces, and slides on and off the mounting bracket for simple, easy refilling. (Nectar not included.) There are two plastic flower-blossom feeding stations with bee guards and perches. The feeder weighs 1-1/2 pounds, sticks out 3-1/4 inches from a window, and is 8-1/2 inches high. --Fred Brack

Summary: Too heavy for suction cups
Comment: I've got several different kinds of hummingbird feeders. I bought this one because I like to see the hummingbirds rest. I very carefully followed the *extensive* installation instructions on the suction cups (boiling, finger oils, washing the window), and then hung it up. About 10 seconds later it fell down, smashing the red plastic feeder unit completely. I replaced it with a lighter, all-plastic feeder whose suction cups held it solidly to the window all summer: Woodstream 217 Window Mount Hummingbird Feeder.

Summary: Great Feeder - suction works fine
Comment: I have had this feeder for 2 years and NEVER had any problems getting it to stay on the window. The hummingbirds LOVE it and it is so nice to see them so close. We have a tree feeder too but I think they like the window one best. Mine is on a north window to keep the hot afternoon sun off the nectar so maybe that also helps with the suction. Not sure, but I never have a problem and dont go thru any elaborate procedure. Just give it some good pressure directly on the back of the suction cup and wait a bit before loading the bottle.
Just ordered 3 more for myself and friends.

Summary: Works as advertised. Held through Hurricane Ike!!!
Comment: I have read some of the negative reviews of this product about the suction cups not holding. If you follow the directions exactly as they are given in the book the suction cups will hold. I live in Houston Texas and I recently put up my feeder on one of my windows about 2 weeks before a hurricane hit our city. On the eve of the hurricane I removed the sliding glass feeding portion and left the suction cups on the window. It has been well over a week since the storm hit and not only did the cups stay on the window but the feeder is still holding onto the window as before. I think I might have saved some hummingbirds too because from the day after the storm hit until just recently I have had about 6 or 7 hummingbirds fighting each other to get food. I'm sure all of their primary sources of food were blown away by the storm. So it does work. And one last thing. Don't buy the nectar stuff that is sold separately because its a waste of money. Just boil 4 cups of water with 1 cup of sugar in a pan and pour it in the feeder. And make sure it cools down before you add it into the feeder.

Summary: Wouldn't buy this type again
Comment: I had purchased the Perky Pet Hummingbird Feeder on a different occasion and thought I would get another as the Perky Pet window mounted was such an attraction for hummingbirds. Unfortunately, the Opus model did not adhere to the window very well (and yes we did try using hot water on the suction cups.) I recommend getting the Perky Pet to those who want a no fuss feeder.

Summary: careful preparation equals great results
Comment: This feeder requires careful preparation- i.e. the window suface should be cleaned throughly (with amonia) and allowed to dry before affixing the suction cups. Add the sugar solution, slde on the fixture AND the hummingbirds were there within ONE hour!
Every week remove the unit and clean with vinegar soulution , replace with fresh sugar water and those little birds will return for many more hours of enjoyment-
beats watching most TV Shows!
My wife , family ( grand kids) and I are delighted with this product. think that it is terrific addition to dining room window!
