Our favorite docs, Mehmet Oz and Michael Roizen, have returned to the book that started it all. With brand new chapters on the liver and pancreas, a Q&A section, and The Owner's Manual Workout, You: The Owner's Manual, Updated and Expanded Edition is an even more vital guide to the most important person in your life—you.

Customer Rating: Summary: A requested Christmas gift. Comment: My sister requested a book by Dr. Oz as her Christmas present this year. I searched for it on Amazon.com, and found several by Dr. Oz to choose from. I ordered "YOU: The Owner's Manual..." It arrived at her doorstep in record time. The speed amazed me. She has reported that the book is wonderful -- filled with wisdom and delightful humor. Customer Rating: Summary: Written for idiots? Comment: It seems as though the author of this book thinks the average American is a complete moron. While that's debatable, I certainly didn't appreciate the information being presented in such a heavily dumbed-down manner. The book is written so that a twelve-year-old could understand it, but for some reason it's littered with a bunch of really stupid jokes and puns that are hard to tolerate. The so-called humorous parts also completely distract the reader from the facts. The anatomical cartoons are unnecessary and obnoxious as well. Additionally, while some women's health information is mentioned (barely), the target reader of this book is likely a middle-aged man. Customer Rating: Summary: Great book for everyone!! Comment: Love this book. Roisen and Oz make their books easy to understand and read. Lots of great information on all around health. They explain how things effect your body and how to be healthy. Customer Rating: Summary: Do Yourself A Favor, Buy A Different Book Comment: I agree with most of the comments by the 3 star reviewers, previous to this date. I bought 2 copies of this book for my family to read and am sorry I did. I find the sexism, sarcasm and endless sexual innuendos offensive and distracting from any real information that may have been helpful. This book was, however, a real insite into how doctors and the medical community really think of us as patients. It makes me not want to trust them quite the same ever again.
